May 17, 2012: The Third China International New Media Shorts Festival “JinPeng Prize” award ceremony was held tonight at ShenZhen, China. Laure Shang performed in Chinese, English and French to cover four classic Oscar movies’ theme songs titled “I will alway love you”, “My heart will go on”, “月光爱人” and “Carmen”.
At www.world-song-contest.com, I am surprised to find that Laure Shang’s “La Muse de la Nuit” is at the No.5 of the semi-finals of their world song contest with a 85 pts score. I have no idea what this contest is about and I am pretty sure that nobody in China knows about it.
UPDATE：It seems that Laure Shang’s final rank is No.6 which is the best a Chinese singer ever achieved in this series contest that already reaches 86th by now.
Laure Shang will attend the “Spa Tribute Festival 2012” as the first Chinese singer to cover the songs of Jacques Brel, accompanied by pianist Jean-François Maljean. Her performance will be at 18:00 pm on 07/07/2012. I am sure she will blow the minds of audience away with her strong vocal and impeccable French.
April 23, 2012: Chinahourly posted an English interview of Laure Shang on their website with a title of “Shang Wenjie not afraid not afraid of controversial topics that I claim to decadent youth”.
